General Information

On June 6th 2010, it will be the 27th edition of the Descente Royale Desjardins. Organized by the "Run Quebec City" team, the Descente Royale became, in 2006, the fastest 10K course in Québec.

Running and walking enthusiasts are invited to this event, which for the first 5 kilometers runs along the Montmorency River, north to south, and for the last 5 kilometers runs on Royale Avenue and the Des Chutes Boulevard. The finish line is located next to the Marcel-Bédard Sports Centre.

For those looking for a personal 10K or 5K record, this is the race for you!

Starting at 9:30 am, a meal will be served to all participants.
On the menu: crepes, eggs, ham, cheese, fruits, toasts,

Runner's Cap and Medal

All participants will get a free
Descente Royale Desjardins Runner's Cap.

A medal will be given to all finishers.
 

Gifts among all participants

Gifts will be drawn among all participants registered to one of the events. To know if you are a winner, look for the blue board in the arrival area.

 

Gathering site before the start and finish site

The morning of the race, at 6:30 am, participants are invited to the Marcel-Bédard Sports Centre from where they will be transported to the starting sites of the 5K and 10K Races.

The finish line is the same for all the events: on des Chutes Boulevard, close to the Sports Centre.

The Sports Centre is located at 655, Des Chutes Boulevard, in Beauport.

Transportation

The morning of the race, between 6:30 am and 7:45 am, from the Marcel-Bédard Sports Centre,
free buses will transport participants of the 5K Race and 10K Race to their respective starting line.

Participants to the Kids Run do not need transportation since their starting line is
next to the Sports Centre.

 
Starting Sites

10K Race
The start of the 10K Race is on Saphirs Street, at the corner of Trudelle Boulevard. Toilets and water will be available.

5K Race
The start of the 5K Race is on Royale Avenue, near Rapides Street. Toilets and water will be available

Kids Run (2K for 7-14 years old)
The start of the Kids Run is on du Collège Street, between Lussier street and Georges-Galarneau street, next to the Marcel-Bédard Sports Centre.

 
Personal Belongings

On every starting sites, buses will be available for participants to leave their personal belongings in a small bag. This bag must be clearly identified using the coupon given with your bib number. You can pick-up your bag at the finish area until 12:30 pm.

 

Showers

Showers will be available at the Marcel-Bédard Sports Centre.

 
Limit of participants

The number of participants is limited to 1 600.

NOTE: In the light of the registrations received as of June 3rd, this limit might be reached.

 
Sanction

The Descente Royale Desjardins is sanctioned by the Québec Athletics Federation. The event is also a member of the Run Quebec City Series.

 
Temperature

The average temperature for this time of the year is 18°C (65°F).
