The SSQ Quebec City Marathon

On August 30, the SSQ Quebec City Marathon will present its 13th edition. It is close to 6,000 participants, from all over the world, that will be part of all events: Marathon (42.2K), Half-Marathon (21.1K), 10K Race, or the Kids Run (5K - for kids from 7 to 14 years old).

 

The Health 5K

The SSQ Quebec City Marathon team presents the 8th edition of the Health 5K.

This annual walk is an occasion for people of all ages to raise money and to give hope by participating in this fundraising activity.

    Running Room Friendship Run
     

    Get great motivational advice from John Stanton, renowned author and founder of the Running Room, go for a short run to ease the nervous tension and then stay for refreshments. Join John at the Quebec City Running Room.

    Pasta Dinner

     
     

    The Pasta Dinner will be an occasion for all runners to exchange one last time before Sunday's marathon. On the menu: pasta, salads, coffee and desserts.

     $20 (CAN), tax included.
     

     
    Cards are on sale at the Marathon's office: (418) 694-4442.
    A limited quantity of cards will also be on sale at the Sports and Fitness Expo Show and at the Pasta Dinner's entrance.

    T-Shirts and medals

    All participants registered will receive a souvenir T-Shirt. All participants finishing the Health 5K will receive a medal for completing the course. Please note that only those participating to the Marathon, the Half-Marathon, the 10K Race and Kids Run, wiil receive a certificate.

    Gifts among all participants

    Gifts will be drawn among all participant registered to one of the events. To know if you are a winner, look for the blue board in the arrival area.

    Gathering site before the start and finish site

    The morning of the race, betwwen 6 am and 7:20 am, participants are invited to gather neart the famous Gare du Palais train station, from where they will be shuttled to their respective starting site.


    The finish site, for all races, will be on Saint-Paul Street, near the Gare du Palais. After race activities will be held in the park next to the station.

    Participants Transportation

    The morning of the race, shuttles are available for participants transportation.

     

    Participants are invited to gather near the finish site, from where they will be shuttled by bus to their respective starting site. The shuttle site is on Saint-Paul street, near the famous "Gare du Palais" train station.

    The first bus is at 6 am, the last one is at 7:15 am.

    Buses will leave as soon as they are full.

    Transportation Fees

     

    Free for participants on showing their bib on boarding the buses.
    For lack of time, there is no shuttle offered to friends and family for the Kids Run and for the Health 5K.

    Starting Site

    The Health 5K starting site is on Champlain Boulevard, near the Côte Gilmour, in Quebec City. It is also the Kids Run starting site. Water, gatorade, coffee and toilets will be available.

    There are very few parking spaces at this starting site. Therefore, it is not recommended to drive there.
    Futhermore, no transportation will be available to get back there after the race.

    Course

    Participants to the Health 5K will walk or run the last 5 kilometers of the Marathon's course, starting on Champlain Boulevard, from Côte Gilmour, then Dalhousie Street and finishing on Quai St-André Street.

     
  • Each kilometer is identified with distinct yellow markers,
        set out on the right side of the street.
  • Streets taken by participants will be closed to traffic,
        to assure better security.
  • Water will be available between the start and finish site.
